At Tate Metalworks, we build custom tanks and pressure vessels in every size and design. Projects that are around 14' and smaller in diameter are typically built at our facility in Roebuck, SC and delivered to your site ready for installation. Larger tanks and vessels are erected on-site at your location. We mobilize teams nationwide to provide industries with custom-built API tanks and ASME pressure vessels. We will work with you to find the best solution for your process. Limited access due to existing equipment or buildings, time constraints, or last-minute changes to nozzle locations are obstacles we have dealt with many times. We are ready to work with you whatever your challenges may be, and we have a proven track record of success.
Tate Metalwork offers top-of-the-line API storage tanks designed and manufactured to meet the rigorous industry standards set by the American Petroleum Institute. Our commitment to quality ensures that you receive the highest-grade tanks available, backed by comprehensive support from the initial design phase to final installation.
API 650 tanks are cost-effective and have large storage capacities, making them ideal for many industries and applications. Industries that commonly utilize API 650 storage tanks include chemical, agro chemical, pulp & paper, biofuels, petrochemical, and wastewater treatment.
In addition to the structural features below, API 650 storage tanks can be designed with accessories such as insulation support, ladders, spiral stairs and platforms to optimize its design to fit your space and operations.
API 650 tanks are best for:
- Atmospheric or low-pressure storage (up to 2.5 psi)
- Liquids stored at temperatures up to 500°F (260°C)
- Tanks of all sizes from small shop-built tanks to large field erected tanks 100+ ft in diameter
- Storage for large volume of liquids in excess of 5 million gallons.
- Vertical cylindrical tanks with flat bottoms, self supporting umbrella roofs or column supported roofs
API 620 tanks offer the advantage of storing products at elevated pressures and reduced temperatures compared to API 650 tanks. Industries that commonly utilize API 620 storage tanks include chemical, agro chemical, pulp & paper, biofuels, petrochemical, waste water treatment, and cryogenic storage.
In addition to the structural features below, API 620 storage tanks can be designed with accessories such as insulation support, ladders, spiral stairs and platforms to optimize its design to fit your space and operations.
API 620 tanks are best for:
- Low-pressure storage (up to 15 psi)
- Suitable for liquids stored at temperatures up to 250°F (121°C)
- Typically for large-diameter tanks that are often field-erected
- Storage of a large volume of liquids in excess of 5 million gallons
- Various shapes beyond just vertical cylindrical tanks and horizontal tanks like silos and cone bottom tanks and dished head roofs
API 653 plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and longevity of your above-ground storage tanks. At Tate Metalworks, we specialize in providing expert API 653 tank repair and reconstruction, with a focus on bottom, shell, and roof replacements. Our services ensure that your storage tanks remain compliant with industry standards while minimizing downtime and extending the life of your assets.
Tate Metalworks’ ASME pressure vessels are engineered for excellence, meeting the highest safety and quality standards outlined in ASME Section VIII, Division 1 of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Industries where ASME pressure vessels are most commonly found for product processing include chemical, agro chemical, advanced recycling, biofuels, petrochemical, pulp & paper, bioplastics, renewable natural gas (RNG), pharmaceutical, coatings, and foam.
In addition to the structural features below, ASME vessels & reactors can be designed with accessories such as insulation support, ladders, spiral stairs and platforms to optimize its design to fit your space and operations. Furthermore, half pipe jackets, dimple jackets and internal coils can be included depending on your processing needs.
ASME pressure vessels are best for:
- High pressure storage up to 3,000 psi
- Suitable for processing liquids at temperatures in excess of 800°F (427°C) and more depending on the metallurgy
- Suitable for shop built vessels to large field erected columns and towers over 100 feet in height.
- Best for vertical or horizontal cylindrical tanks with dished bottoms and top heads and either leg or skirt supported.
